Volume 458: debated on Wednesday 28 March 2007

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills what steps his Department is taking to encourage online learning in Coventry. (126039)

[holding answer 12 March 2007]: The Government’s e-strategy for education and children’s services seeks to ensure all learners have access to an online learning space. The British Educational Communications and Technology Agency (Becta) is responsible for leading on enabling this access, and their delivery plan for the e-strategy aims to harness technology for the overall benefit of learners and the education system. Enabling online learning where and when appropriate is just one element of the strategy’s aims.
