Electoral Register: Proof of Identity

To ask the Minister of State, Department for Constitutional Affairs if she will make it a requirement for individuals registered to vote at polling stations to have to sign the electoral register so that their signatures can be compared against the signature of the person casting the vote. While the Government are committed to ensuring the security of UK elections, we have no plans to require all electors to supply a signature when registering to vote.
