Patients Forums: Public Appointments

Volume 458: debated on Thursday 29 March 2007

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if she will issue national guidance on how members should be appointed to local involvement networks; and if she will make a statement. (129220)

We are clear that LINks must be able to be flexible and reflect the nature of local communities. Therefore we do not wish to centrally prescribe details on membership. However we do think it is important to provide models of good practice in terms of recruitment, support and conduct of those involved in LINk activity. These will be set out in guidance in due course.
