18. To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if she will make a statement on Iran’s nuclear programme. (134752)

We remain very concerned about Iran’s nuclear programme. The United Nations has imposed sanctions on Iran to persuade them to suspend their proliferation-sensitive activities and return to negotiations on the basis of proposals we presented to Iran last June. This would give Iran everything it needs to develop a state of the art civil nuclear industry, and wider benefits, in a way that addresses the concerns of the international community.
