Pupil Referral Units

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills how many pupils were in pupil referral units in each year since 1997, broken down by (a) gender, (b) ethnicity and (c) age of pupil. (132577)

3 The categories for recording ethnicity data in Pupil Referral Units changed in 2005 to reflect the categories used in the 2001 National population census. There is no direct mapping between this set of codes and those used in previous years which will result in some discontinuity in time series data.
