To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how responsibilities for strategic contingency planning for food security are distributed between his Department and other Departments. (137429)

[holding answer 17 May 2007]: The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs is the designated lead Government Department for contingency planning for disruptions to the food supply chain. The Food Standards Agency is responsible for contingency planning for food contamination.
