Advertising: Food

Volume 460: debated on Tuesday 22 May 2007

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what use Ofcom plans to make of the Food Standards Agency's nutrient profiling model in redressing the imbalance of television advertising to children; and what account will be taken of typical portion size in implementing any system of redress. (138423)

The matter raised is the responsibility of the Office of Communications (Ofcom) as independent regulator. Accordingly, my officials have asked the chief executive of Ofcom to respond directly to the hon. Member. Copies of the chief executive's letter will be placed in the Libraries of the House.
