To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) what meetings he has had with the EDF electricity company in the last five years; and if he will make a statement; (138917)

(2) what meetings his Department’s officials have had with EDF on (a) the nuclear industry and (b) the energy review in the last five years; and if he will make a statement;

(3) what meetings his Department’s officials have had with representatives of the nuclear industry in the last five years; and if he will make a statement;

(4) whether he plans to meet EDF in the next six months to discuss the Government’s plans for the nuclear industry;

(5) what plans he has to meet representatives of the nuclear industry in the next six months.

Treasury Ministers and officials have meetings with a wide range of organisations in the public and private sectors as part of the process of policy development and delivery. As was the case with previous Administrations, it is not the Government’s practice to provide details of all such meetings. For details of the Government's policy in this area, I refer the right hon. Gentleman to the Government’s Energy White Paper published today.
