Skin Cancer: Health Education

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what the priorities of the SunSmart campaign will be during the summer. (139255)

The key messages for the next phase of SunSmart (2007-10) are:

the importance of early detection;

avoidance of burning;

the dangers of sunbed use (especially by those under 18); and

an emphasis on highlighting those most at risk of skin cancer (i.e. people with fair skin, lots of moles or freckles or a family history of skin cancer).

The target audience for 2007 is holidaymakers.
