Convention on the Rights of the Child

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assessment he has made of the merits of withdrawing the UK's reservation to the UN convention on the rights of the child. (141141)

We have reviewed the need to retain this Reservation a number of times. Our own legal advice is that effective immigration control would be compromised were we to withdraw this Reservation.
