To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many practices received the initial incentive payment (component one) for agreeing a plan for the implementation of the practice based commissioning DES and specific objectives in 2006-07; and how many received the incentive payment (component two). As of 31 March 2007, 6,940 practices (83 per cent.) had received component one of the practice based commissioning directed enhanced service payment.

The Department does not currently collect data on the number of practices receiving component two of the payment.
