For 2006-07 the cost of ensuring that unoccupied service families accommodation at Pirbright barracks was secured against vandalism and squatters, was approximately £30,000. This included the cost of boarding-up, changing the locks and fencing off of empty properties.

It is too early to estimate a figure for the current financial year.
