6. To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what assessment she has made of the effectiveness of the implementation of the public benefit test for charitable status. (143857)

The Charities Act provides a robust and flexible framework for the Charity Commission, as an independent regulator of charities in England and Wales, to properly take forward the public benefit test. The Commission has recently completed consulting on its draft public benefit guidance, and will publish a response before the relevant provisions of the Charities Act come into force early next year.
