Fulbright Fellowship in Police Studies

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department which officials from his Department sit on the Fulbright Fellowship in Police Studies selection panel; what specialist training they receive; and if he will make a statement. (143241)

The recent Fulbright Fellowship in Police Studies selection panel convened in April this year was attended by staff from the Equality, Diversity and Human Rights Unit and from the Leadership Academy. All panellists are conversant with interview techniques and questioning and are also briefed on the selection processes adopted by the Fulbright Fellowship.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assessment he has made of the effectiveness of the Fulbright Fellowship in Police Studies scheme for (a) police officers and (b) civilian staff. (143243)

The National Policing Improvements Agency is supportive of the Fulbright Fellowship in Police Studies and will ensure that a programme is put in place to assess the effectiveness of the scheme for both police officers and police staff.
