We continue to have serious concerns about certain aspects of the human rights situation in Egypt. We regularly raise these and concerns about other issues, including religious freedom, with Egyptian officials both bilaterally and with EU partners. We hope that Egypt’s election to the UN Human Rights Council will encourage progress.
