To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what the present rates of employer contributions to Civil Service Scheme pension scheme are; what estimate she has made of the cost savings for each year from 2008 to 2050 of capping the employer contribution at 14 per cent.; and if she will make a statement. I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave him on 27 November 2006, Official Report, columns 345-46W. The rates of employer contributions have not changed, but the salary bands referred to in the answer were revalorised from 1 April 2007 by the Scheme Actuary.

I have not made any estimates of the cost savings arising from capping the employer contribution at 14 per cent.
