To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) what discussions he has had with the British Bankers’ Association on the Direct Payments scheme since 2003; and if he will make a statement; (142506)

(2) what discussions he has had with the Building Societies’ Association on the Direct Payments scheme since 2003; and if he will make a statement.

The Chancellor has not met with either of these groups since 2003 to discuss the Direct Payments scheme.
