Learning Disability: Prisoners

To ask the Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills how many and what proportion of prisoners had (a) learning disabilities and (b) dyslexia over the last 10 years. (148114)

[holding answer 9 July 2007]: The information requested is not available centrally. The ‘No One Knows’ research report recently published by the Prison Reform Trust, suggests that between 20- 30 per cent. of offenders have learning difficulties or learning disabilities.
