19. To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what the Government’s target is for additional (a) council and (b) other social housing in the 2007-08 financial year and the next two financial years. (148322)

For 2007-08, we are on course to deliver our target of 30,000 social rented homes. The vast majority will be delivered by housing associations with a small proportion by council, or private developers.

Future delivery will be subject to the outcome of comprehensive spending review 2007.
