Research Councils: Official Hospitality

To ask the Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills what the expenditure of each of the research councils was on hospitality and entertainment in each year since 1997. (148913)

The expenditure of each research council on hospitality and entertainment since 1997 is given in the following table. Research councils hospitality expenditure primarily takes the form of refreshments for visitors, particularly those undertaking review work or providing advice as members of boards or committees. The research councils do not generally fund any entertainment activities.
