To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many claims for (a) child benefit and (b) child tax credit made by A8 nationals in the last 12 months were made in respect of children living outside the UK. (154842)

At the end of June 2007 there were around 14,000 A8 nationals receiving child benefit for a child or children living in another EEA country.
