The information requested could therefore only be provided by requesting a designation for every award from each distributor, which would incur disproportionate cost
The figures requested, which are for income raised for the various good causes including investment income, are given in the following tables using 2006-07 constant prices, the latest available from the Office for National Statistics.

For 2006-07, income raised before 1 December 2006 for the charitable expenditure good cause and the health, education and environment good cause is shown under the new combined good cause. The figures for income raised for the health, education and environment good cause in 1997-98, 1998-99, 2002-03, 2005-06 and 2006-07 includes money that was transferred from that income stream to the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA).
