Ministry of Defence Police: Finance

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what funding was allocated to the Ministry of Defence police in each of the last five years for which figures are available. (156346)

The budgetary allocation for the Ministry of Defence Police and Guarding Agency is shown in the following table:

The figures in the table are included in the chief constable's annual report and accounts. The figures quoted from financial year 2003-04 also include the budgetary provision for the Ministry of Defence Guard Service.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence which Government Departments contribute to the funding of the Ministry of Defence police force. (156347)

The funding for the Ministry of Defence police is included in the overall Defence budget. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Treasury and the Home Office reimburse the Department for Ministry of Defence policing commitments overseas, at the Royal Mint (an Executive Agency) and at gas installations in the United Kingdom, respectively.
