To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer which private consultancy firms (a) his Department and (b) agencies which report to his Department engaged in each of the last three years; which programmes or projects each firm worked on; and what the approximate cost to the Department or agency concerned was of each engagement. The Treasury group’s spending on consultancy since 2001-02 is set out in table 7.4 on page 91 of the 2006-07 annual report and accounts, available from _reports/annual_report07.cfm. The further details requested could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
