Agriculture: Floods

Volume 464: debated on Monday 15 October 2007

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what assessment he has made of the cost to farmers in England of the summer floods, broken down by (a) county and (b) region; and if he will make a statement. (157272)

Data on the economic cost to farmers in England of the summer 2007 floods are not yet available due to the nature of the flooding. DEFRA has commissioned work to estimate the value of immediate crop and livestock losses from flooding, and will publish this when it is complete later in the year.
