Assessments: Expenditure

Volume 467: debated on Thursday 22 November 2007

To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families what his estimate is of the cost of holding national tests at Key Stage (a) 1, (b) 2 and (c) 3 in 2007; and if he will make a statement. (166683)

The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) is responsible for the delivery of national curriculum tests. QCA’s estimate of the cost of delivering the national curriculum tests for Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 in 2007/08 is £50,570,000. QCA’s records do not support the split of this information between the various key stages.
