Volume 468: debated on Thursday 29 November 2007

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, with reference to paragraph 3.6 on page 20 of his Department’s evidence to the Review Body on Doctors’ and Dentists’ Remuneration, how many voluntary redundancies there were over the same period, broken down into clinical and non-clinical redundancies. (163387)

For the period between 1 April 2006 and 31 March 2007 there were 993 voluntary redundancies. Of these 812 (82 per cent.) were clinical and 181 (18 per cent.) were non-clinical. Only eight (0.08 per cent.) were medical voluntary redundancies.
