To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many people are employed by HM Revenue and Customs to monitor deliveries placed with mail carriers and at what cost to his Department in the latest period for which figures are available. (169864)

It would be inappropriate to comment on this as there is an ongoing police investigation.

On 20 November the Chancellor announced an independent review of HMRC's security processes and procedures for data handling led by Kieran Poynter, the chair of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
