To ask the Secretary of State for Justice if he will order an independent inquiry into the circumstances which allowed Anthony Sweeney to be released from prison on a temporary basis. (173395)

There has been an investigation by the Prison Service into Mr. Sweeney’s release. I believe his release was in accordance with Prison Service policy. I will however, write to the hon. Gentleman shortly.
