Radioactive Wastes: Transport

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform on how many occasions radioactive waste material was moved from each nuclear site by (a) rail and (b) other means in each of the last five years. (180479)

The following figures record the notifications of intended movements of spent nuclear fuel, submitted in accordance with the requirements of the Nuclear Industries Security Regulations 2003, since the regulations entered into force on 22 September 2003. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence has responsibility for defence nuclear sites.
