Aggregates: Recycling

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what estimate he has made of the level of production of recycled aggregate in each year since 2001; and if he will make a statement. (181513)

Communities and Local Government carry out a biennial survey on the 'Arisings and Use of Alternatives to Primary Aggregates in England'. The estimated production of recycled aggregates in England was 36.47 million tonnes in 2001, 39.60 million tonnes in 2003 and 42.07 million tonnes in 2005. No more recent figures are available.
