The readily available information relates to the number of permanent and fixed period exclusions by age across primary, secondary¹ and special schools and is published annually by the Department. From the 2003/04 school year the figures can be found in the Statistical First Release ‘DCSF: Permanent and Fixed Period Exclusions from Schools and Exclusion Appeals in England’, the latest of which can be accessed at:
