To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what the implications are, including sums involved, of the Office of National Statistics reclassifying Metronet and Tubelines costs from the private sector to the public sector for National Accounts purposes. (170013)

The public sector classification of Metronet and Tubelines was a statistical decision with no impact on the way in which the PPP contracts operate.

Estimates of the impact were set out in the ONS release of 24 September 2007.
