To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what estimate he has made of the number of under 18 year olds who have volunteered on a regular basis in each of the last five years. (186805)

The last full year figures for number of 16 to 17-year-olds who have volunteered on a regular basis (at least once a month in the previous year) is in the following table:

In the 2003 Citizenship Survey results also showed that 63 per cent. of 11 to 15-year-olds in England and Wales had given help (not regular volunteering) to clubs, groups or organisations in the previous year.
