DIUS was created by Machinery of Government Changes in June 2007 from elements of the then Department of Trade and Industry and Department for Education and Skills. As a consequence it has not existed for the period covered in the question.

However, over the period since June 2007 no staff retired on the grounds of stress-related illness.
