To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what response he has made to the recommendations of the Environmental Audit Committee’s Twelfth Report of the 2003-04 session on wildlife crime; which recommendations have been implemented; and if he will make a statement. The Government’s response to the Environmental Audit Committee’s report was published on 17 March 2005. It can be found in the 2004-05 Session documents, posted in the publications and records section of the UK Parliament website.

The Government have made good progress in taking forward those of the Committee’s 41 recommendations and conclusions which were accepted. As specific details of progress on each of the 41 recommendations may take some time to collate, I will write to the hon. Member separately and place a copy of the information in the House Library.
