Insurance: Public Participation

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer pursuant to the answer of 27 November 2007, Official Report, column 393W, on insurance: public participation, which small independent brokers were consulted by the Financial Services Authority in preparation of the report on the hard disclosure of commission earned by brokers of commercial insurance expected to be published shortly; and if he will make a statement. This is a matter for the Financial Services Authority. The Financial Services Authority commissioned the analysis by CRA ‘Commercial insurance commission disclosure: Market Failure Analysis and high level Cost Benefit Analysis’ as a part of its ongoing review of appropriate commission disclosure on insurance sold to commercial customers.
