To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what the policy of his Department is in relation to people suspected of the theft of information about taxpayers from the Government. (191423)

HMRC takes the security and confidentiality of all information it holds in connection with its functions extremely seriously.

If HMRC were to become aware of an alleged theft of information about taxpayers the Commissioners would investigate the matter in conjunction with the relevant authorities.
