To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the proportion of first time buyers who took out mortgages with a loan to value ratio of 90 per cent. or more in the most recent period for which figures are available. (191676)

The Government does not hold these figures. The Council of Mortgage Lenders publishes a range of statistics on UK housing and mortgage markets, including the number of mortgages taken out by first time buyers and the median loan to value ratio of these loans, available at:
