To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs how much his Department and its agencies spent on (a) first and (b) other class travel by Eurostar in the last 12 months for which figures are available. (187750)

For the period January 2007 to December 2007 inclusive, from information held centrally, the core-Department spent £394,735 on first class travel, and £254,124 on second class travel, by Eurostar. All official travel is undertaken in accordance with departmental travel policy.
