General Practitioners: Working Hours

Volume 472: debated on Thursday 6 March 2008

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many general practitioners covered out-of-office hours in (a) Torbay constituency and (b) England in each year since 1997. (192260)

The information requested is not held centrally. The hon. Member may therefore wish to approach the chief executive of Torbay Care Trust for information on numbers of general practitioners covering out of hours.

Primary care trusts now have a legal responsibility to ensure that they provide, or secure provision of out of hours services for their local population.
