A1079: Accidents

Volume 472: debated on Thursday 6 March 2008

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what assessment her Department has made of road safety on the A1079 road between Hull and York; and if she will make a statement. (192432)

The Department for Transport has not undertaken an assessment of road safety on the A1079. As part of the local authority's Primary Route Network, this road is the responsibility of the East Riding of Yorkshire council. It is for the council to assess the needs and priorities of all the roads within its control and decide how best to target its resources.

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many people were (a) killed and (b) injured in road traffic incidents on the A1079 road in each of the last five years; and if she will make a statement. (192568)

The numbers of casualties resulting from reported personal injury road accidents that were (a) killed and (b) injured on the A1079 in 2002 to 2006 are shown in the table.
