Sentencing: Rape

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice how many of those convicted of rape in each police authority area were given (a) an immediate custodial sentence, (b) a community sentence, (c) a fine, (d) a conditional discharge and (e) an absolute discharge in each of the last five years. (191043)

The number of persons convicted of rape in all courts, and given (a) an immediate custodial sentence, (b) a community sentence, (c) a fine, (d) a conditional discharge and (e) an absolute discharge, in England and Wales by police force area for the years 2002 to 2006 can be viewed in the following tables.

Court proceedings data for 2007 will be available in the autumn of 2008.
