To ask the Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills (1) what proportion of students who applied for university from a (a) state comprehensive school, (b) state grammar school, (c) state secondary modern school, (d) other state secondary school, (e) further education college, (f) state sixth form college and (g) independent school or college accepted a place at university in each of the last four years for which figures are available; (189264)

(2) what proportion of students from a (a) state comprehensive school, (b) state grammar school, (c) state secondary modern school, (d) other state secondary school, (e) further education college, (f) state sixth form college and (g) independent school or college accepted a place at university in each of the last four years for which figures are available, broken down by local authority.

The latest figures from UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) showing the proportion of applicants who were accepted for entry are shown in the table.

Information on the proportion of all students at each type of school who were accepted for entry by local authority is not held centrally.
