Crime: Prosecutions

Volume 473: debated on Thursday 13 March 2008

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many (a) males and (b) females were (i) arrested, (ii) prosecuted and (iii) convicted of aiding and abetting a criminal offence of trespass under section 128 of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005 in each year since the Act came into force, broken down by age group. (192536)

I understand from the relevant police forces that one male has been arrested for aiding and abetting the offence under section 128 of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005.

Any prosecutions would be brought under the main offence. The Ministry of Justice can confirm that in 2005 and 2006 there have been no prosecutions and convictions for trespass under section 128 of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005. Data for 2007 will be available in the autumn of 2008.
