To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what recent assessment he has made of the arrangements for the distribution of powers between the National Assembly for Wales and Welsh local authorities. (194896)

The Wales Office was fully involved in discussions with the Welsh Assembly Government during the passage of the Local Government Bill in the last session. Ongoing discussions take place both at official and ministerial level and Wales Office Ministers meet regularly with both the Assembly Minister for Social Justice and Local Government, Dr. Brian Gibbons AM and the Welsh Local Government Association.
