To ask the Secretary of State for Health how much was spent by his Department on marketing to increase the number of blood donors in London in (a) 2003-04, (b) 2004-05, (c) 2005-06, (d) 2006-07 and (e) 2007-08, broken down by primary care trust. (195115)

It is not possible to break down the marketing costs by primary care trust or by region. However, the following table gives the marketing spend to promote blood donation across England and north Wales by the National Blood Service (NBS).
