To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer for how long Goldman Sachs will be retained in its role as financial adviser to HM Treasury on Northern Rock. (188857)

The financial adviser in question will be retained for as long as necessary for the purpose of restructuring of Northern Rock, as is normal and proper in company restructuring of a similar scale to this.
