Prisons: Cells

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice how many prisoners were (a) doubling up in cells designed for one and (b) trebling up in cells designed for two in each prison in England and Wales at the end of March 2008. (199678)

Figures for the end of March 2008 are not available at present. The following table shows the provisional number of prisoners reported as being doubled in cells certified to hold one person and trebled in cells certified to hold two persons at the end of February 2008.
