Departmental Accountancy

Volume 475: debated on Monday 28 April 2008

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department pursuant to the Answer of 25 February 2008, Official Report, column 1252W, on departmental accountancy, what general rate of inflation is taken into account by her Department in uprating fees for its services. (195919)

Fees for Home Office services are adjusted based on modelling of the future costs of provision. This is based on a range of factors which could include demand projections, the contracts involved, Government pay policy, efficiency plans and the general rate of inflation.

Therefore adjustments to fees will not directly track any particular measure of inflation.
